The VARSKIN computer code

Here is the VARSKIN Mod 2 Code.

In case you are not familiar with the code, VARSKIN Mod 2 calculates the radiation dose (gamma and beta) to skin from radioactive contamination of skin or protective clothing. The dose is computed at any depth in skin or in a volume of skin from point, disk, cylindrical, spherical, and slab (rectangular) sources. Doses from multiple sources can be computed. The input data file was modified to reflect current physical data, to include the contribution to dose from internal conversion and Auger electrons, and to reflect a correction for low-energy electrons. Data input is facilitated by a user-friendly interface with online help screens. SADDE Mod 2 (included) prepares input data for VARSKIN Mod 2 from calculated beta-ray spectra for single or multiple radionuclides and Auger and internal conversion electrons, allowing users to calculate skin dose from radionuclides or mixtures of radionuclides not included in the VARSKIN Mod 2 radionuclide library.

Varskin Mod 4 is out, and is available from the Radiation Safety Information Computational Center (RSICC) site.
