RADAR - External Doses - Medical Sources The Organ Dose Handbooks for X-ray studies, as developed by the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), and the CDI3 software for the same purpose, are available at this FDA site. These organ dose handbooks contain reference values of radiation doses absorbed in tissues of patients undergoing representative diagnostic radiological examinations and interventional procedures. Another goody cooked up by the folks on the Vanderbilt University Safety Committee is a table of values for doses from x-ray and CT sources, as found in the literature, linked to the patient consent form language discussed on the Nuclear Medicine Internal Dose page. See if you-like-a: External Medical Dose Table These same data are also retrievable at the RADAR Medical Procedure Dose Calculator and Risk Language Generator Fetal Doses from Diagnostic X-ray Examinations The following table shows estimated fetal radiation dose for 0, 3, 6, and 9 months gestational age based upon typical exposure values. These data were estimated and tabulated by Dr. Ed Donnelly of Vanderbilt University as part of an ANSI/HPS Standard on Fetal Dose Calculations. This document is at present in press.
